Trimming the risk, enhancing the health
Why a circumcision?
Circumcision is a common medical procedure undertaken for various health, hygiene, and personal reasons. It offers significant health benefits, including a reduced risk of urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted infections, and certain cancers.
Additionally, circumcision can simplify genital hygiene, making it easier to maintain cleanliness and prevent infections. Medically, it is sometimes necessary to address conditions such as phimosis (tight foreskin) or recurrent balanitis (inflammation of the glans). Aesthetic preferences also play a role for some individuals.

The Circumcision Procedure
At Menhance Clinic, we offer different circumcision techniques tailored to each patient’s anatomy, preferences, recovery goals, and desired aesthetic outcome.
Option 1) Stapler Circumcision
A modern technique using a specialised medical stapling device to perform circumcision efficiently and consistently.
Best suited for:
-
Faster procedure time
-
Reduced tissue trauma
-
Quick recovery
-
Patients prioritising convenience and minimal downtime
Key Features:
-
Minimal invasiveness
-
Reduced bleeding
-
Faster healing process
-
Consistent cosmetic appearance
Recovery:
Most patients experience mild swelling and discomfort for the first few days, with recovery taking approximately 4 weeks. Many patients are able to return to light daily activities within a few days, although full healing and abstinence guidelines will still apply as advised by the doctor.
Option 2) Conventional Sleeve Technique
A traditional surgical approach that allows for a greater level of precision and customisation based on the patient’s anatomy, preferences, and desired aesthetic outcome.
Dr Chai's Specialized Technique

Best suited for:
• Patients requiring a more tailored surgical approach
• Complex anatomy or revision cases
• Greater surgical flexibility and precision
• Patients prioritising aesthetic refinement and customised tissue shaping
Key Features:
• Precise tissue removal and contouring
• Customisable surgical technique
• Suitable for more complex presentations
• Greater control over long-term cosmetic outcome
Dr. Chai also utilises advanced subcutaneous suturing techniques (shown in the image below) to support optimal healing, comfort, and long-term aesthetic results. By placing sutures beneath the skin rather than on the surface, this method allows for precise tissue alignment, reduced skin tension, and minimal visible scarring.
This approach may also help reduce irritation from external sutures and contribute to a smoother overall healing process and refined cosmetic outcome.
Key benefits include:
-
Improved wound stability
-
Smoother, more discreet scarring
-
Enhanced healing and patient comfort
Recovery:
As this technique is more customised and surgically detailed, recovery may be slightly longer compared to stapler circumcision. Mild swelling and sensitivity during the initial healing phase are expected, with gradual improvement over the following weeks.
The benefit of this approach is the greater level of surgical precision and control over tissue shaping, allowing for a more tailored aesthetic outcome and long-term refinement.
